2023-2026 Board Nominations
It's that time of year again! NATM Board of Directors Nominations has begun for the 2023-2026 term. NATM Members are able to vote for candidates within their member category.
Please remember, each member company may complete only ONE ballot. Ballots will be sent to the main contacts of NATM Member Companies via email. Voting will close on Dec. 15, 2022.
Regular Member (Trailer Manufacturer) Nominees
Jon Devitt, Midwest Industries
Midwest Industries (dba ShoreLand'r), a manufacturer of boat trailers, has been a member of NATM since 2005. Devitt serves as President & CEO. Having started with the company in 1997, Devitt began as a design engineer, then engineering manager, then VP of Product Development, and now President & CEO. Jon is finishing his first term on the NATM Board and has also been a member of the Technical Committee, a regular Convention attendee, and has attended the Regulatory Roundup. When asked why he is qualified to serve, Jon said, "My initial term with NATM has been a great experience and feel I have a comfort level engaging in discussions with the members. I bring a unique perspective from the boat trailer industry and the NMMA involvement."
Michael Etheridge, Wylie & Son, Inc.
Wylie & Son, Inc., a manufacturer of water and agricultural trailers, has been a member of NATM since 2001. Etheridge serves as Senior Design Engineer, having also been senior staff engineer for heavy-duty DOT cargo trailers. Etheridge has served on the Convention, Education, and Technical Committee, most recently chairing the NATM Technical Committee. When asked why he is qualified to serve, he commented "I am very familiar with the laws and design requirements for light, medium, and heavy-duty trailers and would like to leverage that experience to help the NATM accomplish its mission and goals successfully."
Dustin Miller, Cross Trailers
Cross Trailers, a manufacturer of enclosed cargo trailers, has been a member of NATM since 2016. Miller is the company President, but formerly held roles with Cargo Express and Storm Trailers, having spent nearly 2 decades in the industry. Miller attends the NATM Convention annually and serves on the Government Affairs Committee, and various task forces assigned by the Board. Dustin is finished his first term on the NATM Board. When asked about his qualifications, he commented, "I've been in the industry for over 18 years, having worked my way up from engineering to President. It is my goal to use that experience to help NATM accomplish its goals and improve the industry for all NATM members."
Patric Schmit, Karavan Trailers
Karavan Trailers, a manufacturer of boat, watercraft, pontoon, utility, and industrial trailers, has been a member of NATM since 2005. Schmit serves as VP Sales & Marketing, but has also held roles in engineering, customer service, and quality. When asked about his qualifications, he commented, "I've been with Karavan for 17 years. I have seen the ups and downs of our industry during that time. I have been involved in all aspects of our manufacturing process from design to build. I understand what it takes to be successful in our industry."
Mike Story, LOOK Trailers
LOOK Trailers, a manufacturer of cargo and open aluminum trailers, has been a member of NATM since 2010. Story serves as Director of Purchasing, but has served in purchasing and operations management roles with Haulmark, Wells Cargo, and now LOOK for the past 23 years. Story attends the NATM Convention & Regulatory Roundup annually and serves on various committees including Government Affairs and Technology and is finishing his first term on the NATM Board. When asked about his qualifications, he commented, "My long experience in the trailer business gives me the background to advise the board on a variety of topics and challenges that face our industry. I have a shared a philosophy with the organization that trailer safety should always be our number one priority."
Associate Member (Suppliers) Nominees
Brent Freel, KampCo & KampCo Services of GA
KampCo, a manufacturer of steel and aluminum component parts for trailers, fenders, rails, supports, gussets, caps, corners, and other custom parts, has been a member of NATM since 1998. KampCo has exhibited at every NATM Convention since joining. Freel serves as President for the company, previously having roles in manufacturing parts, payables, receivables, payroll, purchasing, sales, and inventory control. Freel has been amember of the Membership and Convention Committees, chairing the latter committee. He is also a regular attendee of the Regulatory Roundup and NATM Convention. When asked about his qualifications to serve, Freel commented, "I have over 30 years' experience in the trailer industry and feel that I'm honest, and independent thinker, can function in a team setting to contribute ideas, and have served on several different boards over the years."
Jeff Jones, Statistical Surveys
Statistical Surveys, a provider of market data and analysis, has been a member of NATM since 2006. Statistical Surveys is an annual exhibitor at the NATM Convention. Jones, National Trailer Sales Manager for Statistical Surveys, has spent 50 years in the industry, beginning his career with Wells Cargo. Jeff is finishing his first term on the NATM Board but has also served on the NATM PAC Board, Convention, and Marketing Committees. Jones has attended every single NATM Convention in its history. When asked about his qualifications to serve, he noted, "In one capacity or another I’ve been a part of the trailer industry my entire professional career, and I believe I understand what manufacturers are up against as they conduct their day-to-day business.
Bill O'Hara, Dexter
Dexter, a manufacturer of axles, tire & wheel assemblies, trailer parts, fenders, hitches, and many other running gear components, has been a member of NATM since 1991. The company is an annual exhibitor at the NATM Convention. O'Hara serves as VP of Sales - Marin Segment, having spent 26 years with the company. With regard to NATM, Bill is finishing out the end of a term to which he was appointed, but also serves on Convention and Membership committees, and is a Regulatory Roundup attendee. When asked about his qualifications to serve he noted his, "25 years+ working at Dexter and attending the NATM Trade Show with an extensive understanding of various trailer applications along with strong business relationships with both trailer manufacturers and suppliers to the industry.
Ty Scott, Hydrastar
Hydrastar, a manufacturer of hydraulic braking systems, has been a member of NATM since 2012. The company is an annual exhibitor at the NATM Convention. Scott serves as Director of Marketing/Sales for the company with a background in research and development. Scott is an active participant on the NATM Government Affairs committee and annually attends the NATM Regulatory Roundup and Capitol Hill Visits. He was the recipient of the NATM Young Professionals Award. When asked about his qualifications to serve he commented, "I think inside the box, outside the box, and other times I throw the box out to move the needle in a positive and productive direction."
