Celebrating Trailer Safety Week: Uniting the Industry for Safer Roads
The National Association of Trailer Manufacturers (NATM) takes pride in its unwavering dedication to enhancing trailer safety. Trailer Safety Week (TSW), celebrated annually in the first week of June, presents a valuable opportunity for NATM Members and the entire trailer industry to unite and improve the safety of our nation’s roadways. TSW aims to raise awareness about safe trailering practices and educate end-users, dealers, and manufacturers on trailer safety. With an outreach of hundreds of thousands each year and earning federal recognition for the second year in a row in 2024, TSW stands as the first nationwide traffic safety initiative focusing on safe towing practices for light- and medium-duty trailers. NATM has created a variety of resources and materials to support this mission, all accessible on the Trailer Safety Week website. We invite our members to join us in our commitment to enhance the safety of our roads, one trailer at a time!

Safety Made Easy
The NATM Team recognizes how hectic summer can be for the trailer industry, however, that’s exactly why June was chosen for TSW! It’s the perfect time to highlight safety amidst the busy activities that come with warm weather. To assist our members during this peak season, the TSW Team has developed the official Communications Kit.
This kit contains pre-written social media posts, downloadable TSW graphics, blog posts, and more. Updated annually, these resources are customizable to align with each company’s branding with minimal effort.
Maine Trailer has been a TSW Champion for several years. Chris Brady, Marketing Manager at Maine Trailer, shares how the Trailer Safety Communications Kit simplifies the process.
“I don't know why more people don't do it, because the stuff is there verbatim. All you have to do is schedule it out,” Brady said. “You guys do a good job of getting that information out. It makes my job super easy.”
Trailer Safety Ally Program
The Trailer Safety Ally program offers a fantastic opportunity for companies eager to participate in the safety campaign but with limited time. As an official Trailer Safety Week Ally, NATM provides the Trailer Safety Communications Kit that highlights the company’s involvement in TSW while promoting safe trailering practices. The kit includes pre-made social media posts, downloadable graphics, blog posts, and more, which can be personalized to feature specific products and services that enhance trailer safety. Becoming a Trailer Safety Week Ally signals to potential customers that your company prioritizes safety.
Trailer Safety Champion Program
The Trailer Safety Week Champion program honors companies that exceed expectations in supporting TSW and grants them enhanced promotional opportunities. While Trailer Safety Week includes Allies nationwide, Champions are those who fulfill specific criteria and receive benefits detailed on the TSW website.
Trailer Safety Partnership Program
The Trailer Safety Week Partnership program recognizes companies, organizations, and agencies that contribute to the TSW mission through the development and sharing of educational content and resources. Partnerships demand a more substantial commitment in creating and sharing educational material and must adhere to specific standards. For further details on becoming a TSW Partner, please reach out to NATM Education Director Ginger Baker-Sanhueza. Joining NATM and its TSW Allies in enhancing trailer safety is crucial for broadening the campaign’s impact and effectively improving roadway safety.
