Beware of Scammers: Unauthorized Contact of Members
It has come to NATM’s attention that unauthorized individuals are attempting to deceive and mislead members by impersonating NATM staff or claiming to represent sister organizations or third parties associated with NATM. Please note, that NATM does not have any third parties, “sister organizations” or external groups authorized to contact our members outside of its affinity partners: Marsh & McLennan Agency and PartnerShip. This includes but is not limited to: convention, booth sales, membership lists, hotel reservations, and other member benefits.
NATM advises all members to exercise extreme caution and follow these guidelines to protect yourselves:
- Verify the source: When receiving any communication claiming to be from NATM or an affiliated organization, verify the authenticity of the sender by ensuring the email ends with @natm.com, such as NATMHQ@natm.com.
- Think before you click: Avoid clicking on links or downloading attachments from unknown sources, even if they claim to be from NATM. Hover your cursor over the link to preview the URL before proceeding.
- Guard your personal information: Do not provide personal information, such as passwords, credit card details, or social security numbers, to anyone claiming to represent NATM or an associated organization. NATM will never ask for such information via email.
- Be cautious of unsolicited offers: If you receive unexpected offers, promotions, or requests for payment from individuals claiming to be affiliated with NATM, exercise skepticism and question their legitimacy. Verify such offers with NATM directly before proceeding.
- Report suspicious activity: If you encounter any unauthorized contacts, suspicious requests or emails impersonating NATM, promptly report them to NATM and do not click on any links in the body of the email.
NATM remains committed to the privacy and security of our members. We are actively working to identify and mitigate these unauthorized contacts. Your cooperation and awareness are essential in maintaining the integrity of our association.
